Process Control Solutions

We have gained 30 years experience providing process control solutions that utilise Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), motors, drives and plant transducers. Many of our mission critical solutions are used in high integrity environments, such as oil and gas and nuclear installations, with Client processes being wholly dependent on the control systems.

Diagnostic and Monitoring Systems

Our real-time diagnostic and monitoring systems are used by operators to identify, locate and resolve problems that may occur with facilities, plant and processes. They are used to verify that all equipment and facilities are operating correctly.

Key features include:

  • Condition monitoring, status reporting and event/alarm management facilities (e.g. view all condition monitoring points relating to a machine, plant or process).
  • Reduced downtime by rapid and accurate identification of faults.
  • Presentation of mission-critical information in an easily understandable format.
  • Increased visibility of the condition of facilities, plant and processes, which allows operations to be supervised more closely and difficulties recognised at an early “interventionist” stage.

Manufacturing Process Control and Plant Sequential Control

Our real-time manufacturing process control solutions are used to monitor, analyse and control wide-ranging industrial processes and equipment. They support locally based production operations, site-based facilities management and integrated management of geographically distributed facilities.

Our real-time discrete control systems are typically used to support automation of event-driven processes (incl. packaging and power generation).

Key features include:

  • Interfaces to plant devices, motor control centres (MCCs), instrumentation, smart transmitters and remote I/O devices, utilising distributed I/O systems and Fieldbus technologies.
  • Automated control and safety functions
  • Mimic type display facilities that allow users to visualise and monitor processes and equipment.
  • Supervisory and control interfaces for plant operators, including alarming facilities that allow configuration of severity levels, history of alarms and filtering capabilities.
  • Batch and recipe control capabilities for process industries.
  • Periodic scheduled reports.

Our solutions utilise industry standard supervisory control systems (SCADA), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Product Inspection and Verification

Intelligent machine vision solutions are used to fully automate inspection and verification activities that are performed during high-speed manufacturing and packaging processes.

Key features include:

  • OCR/OCV (e.g. date, lot and batch code verification).
  • 1-D and 2-D bar code and data matrix recognition.
  • Pattern and shape recognition and colour matching
  • Increase the reliability and efficiency of visual inspection activities.
  • Automated capture and storage of inspection data and associated images.
  • Integration with client control systems to automate process interlocking and optimisation functions.
  • Integration with client information management systems to provide on-line access to data for quality assurance and verification functions.
